How to change guardianship in SSA account

Sukanya Samriddhi Account: 

SSA account can be opened in the name of girl child though guardian till the age of 10 years of the girl child.

SSA account for the girl child aged for more than 10 years can not be opened now. The account shall be opened through legal guardian only; it can not be opened through grandparents. If any type of account found which were opened though grandparents, the same will be treated as irregular.

If you want to change name of guardian in SSA account, there are following two conditions in which it is allowed-

1. Death of guardian: In the event of death of the guardian, the succeeding guardian shall be eligible to operate the SSA account. In such case, the death certificate of the existing guardian should be produced by the new guardian and a fresh application form (AOF) shall be submitted by the new guardian.

2. Court order: Change of guardian is also permissible on the orders of any Court. In such case, the orders of Honorable Court should be produced by the new guardian along with the fresh application form (SB AOF) and KYC documents duly signed by the new guardian.
